SpaceX launch its 45th StarDetails Mission from Kennedy Space Center

SpaceX’s new satellite mission launched today from Kennedy Space Center in Florida

SpaceX has added another chapter to its success story by launching a new satellite mission. After the successful launch and return of the Crew-3 mission to the International Space Station SpaceX launched a StarDetails Mission today. it was launched from Kennedy Space Center. After ISS astronauts splashdown near Florida, this mission was launched at 05:42 a.m ET. SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket delivered StarDetails internet’s dozens of satellites to orbit today. This is the 45th StarDetails Internet mission. These satellites will fly in one of the five orbital shells used in SpaceX’s global internet network.  Once the satellites reach their operational orbits they will enter into commercial service and start transmitting broadband signals to consumers. Then consumers can buy StarDetails and connect to the SpaceX ground terminal.

What is StarDetails

StarDetails is a satellite internet constellation that is operated by SpaceX. It enables video calls, online gaming, streaming, and other high data rate activities that historically have not been possible with satellite internet. It provides internet availability to the users on the ground. Users can expect to get download speeds between 100 Mb/s and 200 Mb/s in most locations. It provides internet access coverage to approximately 32 countries. Till now about 2500 satellites have been launched by SpaceX for StarDetails. This time SpaceX has launched a total of 53 StarDetails Internet satellites for the 45th StarDetails satellite mission.

Crew-3 Mission by SpaceX and NASA to ISS

Last year in November 2021, a team of four astronauts was sent to ISS. Out of the four astronauts, three are from America, and one is from European Space Agency. This crew-3 mission aboard a SpaceX Dragon capsule from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This was the third spaceflight for Thomas Marshburn while the first for all the three crew members Kyla, Raja, and Matthias. They stayed for 176 days. Firstly the mission is to be launched on 31st October but delayed to November 10 due to unfavorable weather conditions. The return of crew -3 is delayed many times but finally on 05th May 2022 undocking happened.

Return of SpaceX Crew Dragon Capsule

NASA’s 3 Astronauts Kayla Barron, Raja Chari, Thomas Marshburn, and the European Space Agency’s Matthias Maurer successfully splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico at 12:43 a.m ET. These four astronauts were on a mission to ISS which was launched in November 2021 under the supervision of SpaceX. They stay on this mission for the longest period of six months on the International Space Station. This is a success for SpaceX to return astronauts safely to earth from ISS. SpaceX has a contract with NASA to send the astronauts to and from ISS. After the success of this Crew-3 mission, SpaceX send another team of Astronauts to ISS on 27th April 2022. This is the Crew-4 mission by SpaceX launched to ISS. Crew-3 members were on board to greet the crew-4 astronauts and guide them to be familiar with ISS. The crew Dragon capsule successfully splashed down into the calm water just off the coast of Tampa.
